Sussex exemplar for system Safeguarding approach

Sussex has been recognised as a national exemplar for our approach to Safeguarding across the system.

The system model has been highlighted by NHS England, particularly with the complexities of working across a large area with three local authorities, three safeguarding adult boards and three safeguarding children partnerships.

The Clinical Commissioning Groups were awarded with the national Safeguarding Star Award after presenting at the NHS England South East ICS workshop.

ICS Leader Adam Doyle, Chief Nursing Officer Allison Cannon and Deputy Director for Safeguarding Naomi Ellis talked through the drivers and investment to developing a joined-up approach to safeguarding across the system.

The Safeguarding team also presented at a national event and are now supporting other systems from around the country with advice regarding their own system developments.
