The ICS clinical board, which brings together the most senior clinicians from the partner organisations, has prioritised tackling unwarranted variation as a key workstream.
Identifying and examining unwarranted variations in the detection, treatment and outcomes for a variety of conditions is a proven way to drive improvements in the quality and efficiency of care.
This work includes the implementation of the Clinically Effective Commissioning programme and the NHS RightCare and Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) initiatives. It has also led to plans to improve the detection and management of high blood pressure in areas with high levels of undiagnosed prevalence.
We have also launched an Isolation pack for the over 70s to support them during COVD19.
